On 17 May 2026, Nikolas Georgiou from Cyprus, at the age of 50, will take on the challenge of running the Riga Marathon in Latvia (42 km) — not only to test his limits, but also to make a difference.
On the occasion of World IBD Day, he is running in support of people living with Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis — individuals who face the daily challenges of chronic, often “invisible”, conditions.
With a personal goal of breaking his marathon record (2 hours and 46 minutes), this effort goes beyond the boundaries of sport. Its purpose is to raise awareness, inspire others, and support a meaningful cause.
All proceeds will be donated directly to the Cyprus Association for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease, helping to support patients and strengthen the Association’s work.
Every donation counts. Every contribution makes a difference.
Together, we can raise awareness and stand beside those who need it most.
A receipt can be issued for every donation.
Thank you for becoming part of this effort.
