Who Are We?

Who We Are

What is the Pan-Cyprian Association for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease (CYCCA)

The Pan-Cyprian Association for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease (CYCCA) was founded on December 10, 2001, and was officially recognized as a nonprofit organization (NGO) by the government on August 2, 2002.

CYCCA represents children and adults with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), namely Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

People with these conditions experience lifelong inflammation of the digestive system, particularly in the large and small intestines. During flare-ups, they require specialized medication, and unfortunately, the most severe cases will require multiple surgeries over the course of their lives.

Objectives of the Association:

  •  Providing all forms of assistance, support, care, and efforts to find solutions to patients’ problems.
  •  Informing and raising public awareness about the challenges faced by people living with these conditions.
  •  The organization of seminars, conferences, lectures, discussions, and other activities that promote research, progress, and improvements in the care provided to these individuals.
  • Partnerships with various services where patients can receive discounts, such as clinical psychologists, clinical dietitians/nutritionists, gyms, physical therapy, dance studios, massage, organic stores, stores selling dietary supplements, osteopathy, reflexology, life and personal development coaches, etc.
  • Cooperation with the relevant national authorities and EU agencies, as well as with relevant agencies and related institutions abroad

All of us who participate in and support the Association are volunteers, which is why we need everyone’s help and support so that we can continue our work, fighting for patients’ rights, a better quality of life, and the elimination of social exclusion and prejudice.
