Dear Members, As you may have already learned, during yesterday’s session of the Parliamentary Health Committee it became apparent that there is a possibility that the bills and regulations concerning the General Healthcare System (GeSY) will be unanimously approved during the plenary session on 16 June. However, this cannot be taken for granted, as there are ongoing behind-the-scenes discussions regarding amendments that could potentially undermine the philosophy of GeSY in order to serve private interests. For this reason, CyFPAF (the Cyprus Federation of Patient Associations and Friends), of which CYCCA is a member, has decided to present the attached resolution to the public. The aim is for the voice of the patient—heard and counted for the first time—to positively influence the approval of the legislation. The process is very simple.
