On Saturday, 17 May 2025, on the occasion of World Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Day – which includes Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease – the Miles4Guts Charity Marathon, covering a distance of 42 kilometres, took place.The initiative was organised by the Miles4 running team, with the aim of raising awareness, promoting understanding, and supporting people living with IBD. The marathon started at 16:00 from Athalassa Park (near Nicosia General Hospital) and concluded at 21:00 at Finikoudes Beach in Larnaca, at the Kimon Statue. The runners – Andreas Mylonas, Marios Hasapis, and Nikos Kalogirou – are three young men currently serving in the National Guard, who dedicated their effort to supporting and empowering people living with IBD. The route was broadcast live through the Miles4_ TikTok profile, allowing people from across Cyprus and abroad to participate virtually and support the initiative.
