“What Is It That You’re Carrying in Your Belly?” – 23 October 2026 – Aradippou, Larnaca

A Heartfelt THANK YOU!

Friday, 23 October, in Aradippou, was a truly special evening for the Cyprus Crohns and Colitis Association (CYCCA) filled with emotion, honesty, and human strength.

Under the theme “What Is It That You’re Carrying in Your Belly?”, we spoke openly about Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis, breaking taboos and giving a voice to experiences that deserve to be heard.

A very special and deeply heartfelt thank you to Thanasis Sylvestros, who shared his personal journey with us with honesty, courage, and strength. Thanasis, thank you for opening your heart and reminding us that behind every diagnosis there is a person, a story, and a daily struggle. Your testimony can offer courage and hope to many people who feel they are alone.

Our warmest thanks go to Dr Theodora Kalli, Dr Georgios Markides, Isabella Hadjichristofi, and Cleopatra Kosma for their valuable participation and for sharing their knowledge with us.

We would also like to thank the Mayor of Aradippou, Mr Christodoulos Partou, and the Cyprus Society of Gastroenterology for their auspices, as well as the Municipality of Aradippou for hosting the event and everyone who contributed to making it possible.

Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who attended—to the patients, families, friends, and every person who chose to listen, learn, and understand.

We continue this journey together, because no one should ever feel alone in their journey with the disease.

Together, We Can!
