Miles for Guts is our first charitable initiative, where a team of young people, together with other interested participants, will take part in a marathon dedicated to individuals living with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD).
Throughout their preparation for the marathon, they will share their journey on social media with the aim of raising public awareness.
Through the link in their bio, funds will be raised and donated to the Cyprus Association for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease (CYCCA)!
We would like to personally thank the young people who initiated this major effort to inform, educate, and raise public awareness about Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), namely Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis. The event will take place on Saturday, 17 May 2025, and is organised by the Miles4 team, who will run a marathon from Nicosia to Larnaca to raise funds for the Cyprus Association for Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease (CYCCA).

This marathon becomes a symbol of strength, perseverance, and solidarity in raising awareness about Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease.
The MilesFor charitable initiative is launching with the goal of supporting people living with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s Disease.
The MilesForGuts marathon will take place on 17 May 2025. A team of runners will set off from Nicosia and run to Larnaca in support of people living with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), such as Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
The marathon will be held with a limited number of participants; however, the event will be streamed live via Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, allowing everyone to take part in the initiative and support awareness efforts surrounding IBD.
The MilesFor team is collaborating with the Cyprus Association for Ulcerative Colitis and
Crohn’s Disease (CYCCA), with the aim of strengthening financial support for
patients' needs, while also raising public awareness about IBD.
Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis
Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are Inflammatory Bowel Diseases that cause inflammation of the digestive system. Common symptoms include abdominal pain, diarrhoea, weight loss, and other serious complications such as anaemia.
Despite the challenges posed by these conditions, most patients, with appropriate treatment, can continue living their lives almost normally.
CYCCA represents people living with these conditions in Cyprus and
works to raise awareness about the difficulties they face.
It is estimated that there are approximately 7,000 people living with IBD in Cyprus, including
many children.
